This year is no exception as the Foundation board is pleased to announce a gift of $221,689 to eight different departments within Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea that will help provide new and improved opportunities of care for residents in Albert Lea.

“The Naeve Health Care Foundation gives generously with the goal of enhancing the care our friends, neighbors and family members receive as patients at our local campus,” says Susan Loch, director of the Naeve Health Care Foundation and Mayo Clinic Health System Austin Foundation in a news release.

One of the areas assisted by the funds was the urology department to purchase Uroflow and Rezum equipment to directly benefit the patients of Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

“When Dr. Avant and I started our practice here in Albert Lea, one of our goals was to bring high quality, cutting edge urologic care to the people of Albert Lea and this equipment allows us to do just that,” said Dr. Adam Miller, urologist at mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. “I look forward to using these extraordinarily generous gifts to care for patients with complex urologic needs.”

Other areas that benefited from these funds include ongoing financial support for the Community Health worker, a new ultrasound machine and a bladder scanner for family medicine, a Welch Allyn spot Vision Screen for the Eye Center, and Exam Chair for Dermatology, two high/low tables for Cardiology, televisions, a cart and mattresses for the Emergency Department, Enhanced Exterior Illumination, and continued support for the Hospice Music Therapy program in Albert Lea.
